Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Elizabeth Cady Stanton

1815-1902

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was an advocate of woman's rights during the decade before and after the civil war. She lived in a time when America had no special or new rights for women, but only for men. In order for women to have more rights and privledges, Elizabeth Cady Stanton fought hard to pass new laws and regulations that made it possible for women to live free and happy. Stanton's accomplishments really made a big difference for women today. She taught us that it was possible for women to actually live a happy life without the consent of a man. Her most important contributions were her fight for the woman's movement (Click to Continue), including the fight for women to vote, and for the right to divorce; and the convention meeting in Seneca Falls.(Click to Continue)
